Many express their anger/frustration in a physical form, while others express theirs in a verbal form (words that are harmful to those near them; and for others, they become very passive and they internalize their negative energy inwards pretending nothing happened. What is Assumption?

The following are some common assumptions:

  • He/She does not want to talk to me because of the color of my skin.
  • He does not respect me because I am a woman.
  • He/She does not like me because of my intellect.
  • She is not into our relationship because I am rich.
  • She doesn’t talk to me anymore because she is jealous of me.

Where Do These Assumptions Come From?

Every assumption can be traced to the following areas of your life experience:

  • The Culture in which you are raised
  • Family of origin and parenting
  • Educational or Institutional exposures
  • Associations, social and professional affiliations

What Create Anger?

If so, this can create several negative emotional problems, not just for the person you’re angry with but it can also create problems for you, the holder of such anger. Some results from holding in your anger can lead to such things as migraine headaches, aneurysms, high blood pressure, stomach ulcer, etc. Holding your anger in is not an effective way to manage it, and it’s very unhealthy. Many people believe that expressing your anger is a negative thing but it is all about how you express it. Communicate your feelings in a calm clear way with statements such as “I am angry about….” or “This makes me angry because…” Being able to say what you are angry about and why, helps others to understand where you are coming from, and gives them a chance to correct the situations.
